10 tips on how to take better photos

Hi guys,

Over the last months and weeks, I received lots and lots of emails, direct messages and comments asking, “How do I take better photos?”. If you want to know the answer then keep on reading.

I will be sharing some of the tips to help you having appealing photos. So here we go!

1-The best way to improve your skills is to shoot every day. It doesn’t matter what you’re shooting just shoot as much as you can.

2-Shoot portraits and landscapes in golden hours (later, I will be sharing some tips about the best time of day to photograph).

3- Usually I see great photos and think “didn’t they see that garbage bin?”. Be aware of backgrounds!

4- One of the most common tips is the “Rule of Thirds”. You just cut down your frame into thirds by using horizontal and vertical lines so that you have 9 parts. Then you place your main subject intentionally (later, I will be sharing some tips about where to place points of interest in my frame).

5- The key is to get it right in the camera first, so you don’t have to spend time editing.

6- Try to have one or two colors featuring in your photograph. Limit your palette!

7- Use the light to your advantage. See where the light is coming from (later, I will be sharing some tips about lighting)

8- Fill the frame with your subject and see how much your photos will look better. The closer you are the better you can see details!

9- Don’t try to pack too many elements into your image. Keep it simple!

10- Shoot with your eye. Practice noticing expressions and light situations.

Finally, I say break the rules! Try new things and learn from your mistakes.

That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading and if you did, don’t forget to give this post a like and to follow my blog (by email).
